MANILA, Philippines – While Sen. Risa Hontiveros blasted taking selfies with newly-deported dismissed Bamban town Mayor Alice Guo, President Marcos sees nothing wrong with taking photos with the latter as such an act is now part of modern culture.

“I think that is…part of the new culture now na magpakuha na ng kahit ano. Tapos ipo-post nila, tingnan mo o nakasama ako dito sa team ng ganyan-ganyan. Ang tawag natin sa Pilipinas, we are the selfie capital of the world di ba. Eh di nag-selfie. Hindi mo naman mapigilan ang tao na ngumiti,” Marcos said in an interview.

“They just had a selfie. I don’t think, I don’t think there’s much more to it than that. Nagpa-selfie sila,” he said.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros slammed government officials taking photos with Guo likening her arrest to a “fan meet.” She reminded everyone that Guo is a fugitive and has a lot of answering to do before the Filipino people.

She also blasted the ex-mayor’s big smiles in photos taken with her.

“Tignan natin gaano sya ka-photogenic sa hearing sa Lunes. Unli pictures siya doon,” she said.
