MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Risa Hontiveros reminded everyone, especially government officials taking selfies with dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, that she is a fugitive, not a celebrity and should not be treated like an idol.
In a series of Facebook posts, the senator blasted people in government who acted like fans upon seeing the newly-deported ex-mayor and even shared all smiles selfies with her.
Her first post said, “PAALALA lalo na sa mga kawani ng gobyerno: Si Alice Guo ay pugante. May kasong human trafficking. Hindi po yan celebrity.”

The return of the ex-mayor wanted by justice for her alleged crimes earlier today, September 6 has so far been the biggest news. She was captured by Indonesian authorities in Tangerang City, Jakarta, Indonesia last Wednesday, September 4 and was deported back to the Philippines earlier today, September 6.
In another post, Hontiveros who chairs the Senate committee on women and children that hears the illegalities of POGO operations in the country including Guo’s alleged involvement in it blasted the fanfare.
“We want answers, NOT a photoshoot. Alice Guo, the FAKE Filipino, has a lot of explaining to do,” she said.

As controversial as the ex-mayor’s return are her noticeable smiles and “happy vibes” in photos taken of her after her capture which have gone viral online. In a lengthy comment on her post, the senator said it seemed as if her arrest was a “fan meet” sans “red carpet.”
But her smiles would not be as jolly, said the senator when she gets grilled for her alleged crimes in the resumption of the hearing on Monday, September 9.
“Tignan natin gaano sya ka-photogenic sa hearing sa Lunes. Unli-pictures sya doon,” she said.
“Pinaglaruan ni Alice Guo ang mga batas ng Pilipinas at ginamit nya ang posisyon nya para makapag-operate ang mag POGO na naging sangkot sa kidnapping, murder, human trafficking, at prostitution.”
“Alice Guo, the fake Filipino, will have a lot of explaining to do on Monday.”
“Pagbabayaran niya ang pagsisinungaling niya, ang pagtago, pagtakas , at ang panloloko sa sambayanang Pilipino.”
