EVEN heroes get sick.

After his heroic plunge into chest-high floods to save stranded residents in the devastation of Typhoon Carina and Habagat, actor Gerald Anderson got sick. He however was on his way to recovery and thanked his supporters for wishing him well, according to reports.

On Monday, the actor posted a photo of his hand holding two tablets and said “last day of meds. 100 (percent) from the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone for all the love & concern.”

He did not specify what his sickness was.

As relentless rains and overwhelming floods hit the country’s capital region and nearby provinces last week, videos of Anderson, together with his team swimming into deep floods went viral online.

Unaffected by the health hazards he could get swimming in contaminated flood water, he bravely went house-to-house with an inflatable floater and ferried stranded residents from their homes to a safer place.

He was seen convincing a young girl to come with him and ride on his back to bring her to safety. In another video, he transported an old woman from her house to a safer place.

He got massive praises from the netizens because of his bravery.
