Philippine government aims to educate the youth, even children about the importance of the West Philippine Sea to Filipinos especially its history as well as the country’s other maritime claims and their value to the future generation through a comic book called “Ang mga kwento ni Teacher Jun.”
In the POST-SONA discussions held at the Hilton Hotel last last July 24, Philippine Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Ronnie Gil Gavan proudly flipped the pages of the book “designed to teach the young” everything about the West Philippine Sea and fuel them with the right knowledge to continue the fight for the country’s territories in the future.
“The intention is for us to teach the young, as young as they are, because we believe that we can only be as good as how our people appreciate our interests in the West Philippine Sea.”
