MANILA, Philippines — The number of stranded passengers due to the effects of Typhoon Enteng has risen to  2,413, the Philippine Coast Guard said Monday.

In its situation report, the PCG said that from 12:00 p.m. to 4 a.m. this Monday 1638 passengers have been stranded so far in the ports of Southern Tagalog, Bicol, and Eastern Visayas.

A total of 39 vessels, 610 rolling cargoes, and four motorbancas are also stranded, while 15 vessels and 28 motorbancas are taking shelters in these ports, the PCG said.

Authorities said that a total of 1,638 passengers are currently stranded in the ports of Sta. Clara, Looc, Naval, Carigara, Calubian, Maasin, Benit, and Padre Burgos in Eastern Visayas.

Four  vessels including 340 rolling cargoes are also stranded in these parts while 10 motorbancas and nine vessels are taking shelter due to the adverse weather conditions.

In Bicol, a total of 750 passengers are likewise stranded in the ports of Tabaco, Pioduran, Pasacao, Virac, San Andres, Masbate City, Aroroy, San Jacinto, San Pascual, Placer, Mobo, Matnog, and Pilar.

A total of 26 vessels and 29 rolling cargoes are currently stranded while two motorbancas and 16 vessels are taking shelter in these ports, the PCG said.

It also reported that in the ports of Real, Dinahican and Polillo in Southern Tagalog, 26 passengers are currently stranded including nine vessels, 11 rolling cargoes and four motorbancas. 

Three motorbancas and three vessels are alao taking shelter in these ports, the PCG report said.

Typhoon Enteng carries maximum sustained winds of up to 75 kph and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is also enhancing the southwest monsoon or habagat which is also a major source of rainfall in some parts of Luzon and the Visayas.

As of 8:00 AM, the state weather bureau PAGASA has raised the tropical cyclone warning signal number 2 in the following areas.

  • The northeastern portion of Camarines Norte (Vinzons, San Lorenzo Ruiz, Talisay, Daet, Labo, Paracale, Jose Panganiban, San Vicente, Basud, Mercedes, Santa Elena, Capalonga)
  • The northeastern portion of Camarines Sur (Garchitorena, Caramoan, Presentacion, San Jose, Lagonoy, Tinambac, Siruma, Goa)
  • Cagayan (Pe, Gonzaga, Santa Teresita, Buguey, Lal-Lo, Gattaran, Baggao, Santa Ana, Lasam, Santo Nino, Alcala, Amulung, Solana, Iguig, Tuguegarao City, Enrile, Aparri, Ballesteros, Camalaniugan, Allacapan, Piat, Tuao, Rizal, Abulug, Pamplona) including Babuyan Islands, the eastern portion of Isabela (Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, Cabagan, Delfin Albano, Quirino, Gamu, Burgos, Luna, Reina Mercedes, City of Cauayan, Alicia, Echague, Jones, San Agustin, Angadanan, San Guillermo, San Pablo, Maconacon, Tumauini, Ilagan City, Palanan, Divilacan, San Mariano, Naguilian, Benito Soliven, Dinapigue, Cabatuan, Aurora, San Manuel, Mallig, Quezon, Roxas)
