MANILA, Philippines – STAR Magic has issued a warning about ongoing scams using the name of its head, Laurenti Dyogi, targeting artists soliciting auditions for a bogus film project.
The network’s stable of stars released an official statement informing everyone about the scheme.
“We have been made aware of an ongoing scam targeting artists and colleagues in the entertainment industry, wherein the name of Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi is being falsely used to solicit auditions for a non-existent daring or sexy film project,” said Star Magic.
The management debunked the existence of such a project, let alone calls for an audition for it.
“We want to stress that there is no such project and Star Magic does not conduct auditions that require anyone to engage in compromising acts,” it said.
“Any communication or message suggesting otherwise is a scam. The phone numbers provided in these messages do not belong to Direk Lauren. Please do not respond or send any personal information,” it said.
