MANILA, Philippines – Shiela Guo, alleged sister of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, is now under the custody of the Senate.

Escorted by authorities, she arrived at the Senate compound at 12:59 p.m. Monday after her detention at the National Bureau of Investigation, together with Katherine Cassandra Li Ong, authorized representative of Lucky South 99.

Guo and Ong were intercepted by Indonesian authorities last August 20 and deported to the Philippines on August 22.

An arrest warrant had been issued to Shiela, as well as her siblings for consistently snubbing Senate hearings on their family’s involvement in offshore gaming operations in the Philippines, particularly in Bamban, where two POGO hubs were built on Baofu Land Development Inc., a vast property said to be previously owned by the dismissed mayor.

Sheila is expected to appear at the Senate hearing Tuesday that aims to solve the mystery of the Guo family’s mysterious Philippine exit without being detected.

Alice Guo remains at large.
