MANILA, Philippines – Because of her cooperation, the Senate committee on women and children has ordered for the release of Nancy Gamo, former accountant of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo.

“Iminumungkahi ko sana mapalaya natin si Miss Nancy. Nancy Gamo. Napaka-cooperative sa atin, hingi ko sana mapalaya siya sa custody ng Senado. I so move,” Sen. Robin Padilla asked committee chair Risa Hontiveros.

Hontiveros, who quickly approved of the motion, said she was about to order Gamo’s release even before Padilla requested it.

“Malaya na po kayo sa jurisdiction ng komite,” Hontiveros said.

Gamo has been under Senate custody following her arrest over two weeks ago. The Senate arrest was only intended to ensure a resource person’s attendance in hearings conducted by the upper chamber.

Gamo said she herself wanted to clear her name and her business with the hiding mayor who even denied personally knowing her in past hearings.

During the hearing on illegal offshore gaming operators Monday, Gamo revealed that she has been tasked by the mayor, who hired her as a freelance accountant to incorporate her companies, including the Hong Sheng Gaming Technology Inc. and Zun Yuan Technologies Inc. quashing the town chief’s denial of her involvement in POGOs.

She said she has been Guo’s accountant since 2012, the year they first met.

“I happened to register ‘yung mga corporation na pag-aari ng family nila way back way back 2012,” she said,

“May iba pang mga corporations and kasama pa rin ‘yung dalawang POGO companies,” she said.
