MANILA, Philippines – Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos assured that ex-Bamban town chief Alice Guo will be treated by the Philippine National Police just like any other inmate. She will also be accessible to the media anytime.

“No cellphone, no aircon, no special treatment and media can inspect her cell anytime,” Abalos posted Friday.

Guo, who was fresh from her deportation early Friday, was transferred to Camp Crame at 3:06 a.m. after securing a medical examination and documentation shortly after her arrival in a private hangar in Pasay City, PNP Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo confirmed.

Devoid of her lavish living, Guo will stay in an ordinary detention room with one bed, comfort room, and an electric fan.

“She will be treated as an ordinary detainee. [No] special treatment. Iniisa-isa ‘yung gamit niya. No cellphone, no AirPods. Bawal ‘yun sa facility,” Fajardo told reporters.

“Kung ano po ‘yong proseso na ginawa natin sa ordinaryong citizen, if they are just referring po sa number ng police personnel na atin pong dineploy, well narinig po natin galing sa bibig po ni dating mayor na may death threat po siya,” he said.

Guo was arrested by Tangerang City in Jakarta, Indonesia last Wednesday after the Philippine government elevated the search for her to the International Criminal Police Organization.

Guo was read her arrest warrant and Miranda rights before being handcuffed and brought to a holding area for physical and medical examination.

According to Fajardo, Guo is expected to bail out for the graft and corruption charges filed against her before a Capas, Tarlac court.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros earlier said they received word that Guo will be surrendered to Senate custody on Friday but Fajardo said, until the ex-mayor secures bail for her graft and corruption charges, she shall remain in Camp Crame.
