MANILA, Philippines – The Metro Manila Film Festival has officially announced the first set of entries officially participating this year in its grand launch on Tuesday. 

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Don Artes announced that the 50th MMFF will have 10 entries instead of the usual eight. 

The official batch of entries include: 

  • And the Breadwinner Is… 
  • Greenbones 
  • Strange Frequencies
  • Haunted Hospital
  • The Kingdom 

Headlined by Vice Ganda, “And the Breadwinner Is…” also stars Gina Pareño, Maris Racal, Jhong Hilario, and Kokoy de Santos. Produced by ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. and The Ideafirst Company, the movie is directed by Jun Robles Lana and written by Daisy Cayanan, Jumbo Albano, and Jun Robles Lana.

Drama flick “Green Bones” is produced by GMA Pictures, the film is directed by Zig Dulay, written by Ricky Lee and Anjeli Atienza and will star Sofia Pablo and Dennis Trillo.

Reality MM Studios, Inc.’s “Strange Frequencies: Haunted Hospital” is a horror film written by Dustin Celestino, Leovic Arceta, and Kerwin Go – stars Jane de Leon, Enrique Gil, Alexa Miro, and MJ Lastimosa.

Aicelle Santos, David Ezra, Victor Robinson, and Bituin Escalante star in “Himala, Isang Musikal” written by Ricky Lee. 

Box Office king Vic Sotto returns to the MMFF scene with “The Kingdom” alongside Piolo Pascual. Produced by APT Entertainment, Inc., MZET TV Productions and MQuest Ventures, Inc., the film is directed by Michael Tuviera and written by Michelle Ngu-Nario.
