MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos said that he has a “very good idea” of the government official behind the escape of dismissed Bamban Tarlac mayor Alice Guo, and it is from the Bureau of Immigration.

“Very, very good idea. I have a very good idea… from BI,” he said in a chance interview at the Malacañan Palace.

According to Marcos, the government has now identified the employees of BI who helped escape Alice Guo, but the chief executive did not mention any names yet.

He said that the Department of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, is “almost finished with a very thorough investigation” on Guo’s case.

The DOJ will be able to “identify all of those who are involved in this,” he said.

“That’s what the last part of this — how far, how deep does it go, isa lang bang tao ang involved, or marami sila, o sindikato ito. That’s what we’re looking at now. There are no sacred cows.,” said Marcos.

Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian recently disclosed that the BI was aware of Guo’s escape but kept President Marcos in the dark about her whereabouts.

Guo remains at large to this point.

Guo reportedly fled the country as early as July and traveled to Singapore and Malaysia along with her siblings Sheila and Wesley.

Sheila was intercepted in Indonesia and deported back to the Philippines together with Cassandra Li Ong, the official representative of unlicensed gambling hub Lucky South 99 in Pampanga.
