MANILA, Philippines – State weather bureau PAGASA said Wednesday that La Mesa dam in Quezon City is now overflowing after water levels reached 80.16 meters as of 5 a.m.

According to PAGASA, low-lying areas along Tullahan River from Quezon City which includes Fairview, Forest Hills Subdivision, Quirino Highway, Santa Quiteria and San Bartolome are at risk of flooding. 

Barangay Ligon, North Expressway and La Huerta Subdivision in Valenzuela, and Malabon will also be affected by the dam’s release.

“All the residents living in the aforementioned areas especially those near the river banks are advised to be alert for further increase of water level along Tullahan River,” said PAGASA. 

Metro Manila has been experiencing heavy rains since Tuesday night due to the southwest monsoon Habagat causing flooding in various parts of the capital city. 

Yellow warning alert has been raised in Zambales, Bataan and Metro Manila. 

Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains affect Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Tarlac and Laguna (Calamba, Cabuyao, Santa Rosa, Binan, San Pedro, Los Banos) which may persist within 3 hours and may affect nearby areas.
