MANILA, Philippines – A Kingdom of Jesus Christ member died due to heart attack early Sunday morning when members of the Philippine National Police took over the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City again in the aim of arresting fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy.

Over 2000 police officers participated in the large-scale manhunt operation for Quiboloy at the KOJC compound in Buhangin district in Davao City to enforce the warrant served by a Pasig City court in connection to the pastor’s human trafficking case.

As confirmed by Police Regional Office XI spokesperson Catherine Dela Rey, the victim, who was said to be extremely tired when tasked to gerd the tower overnight was declared dead on arrival.

Around 2000 policemen were deployed to enforce the alias warrant issued by a Pasig City court.

The operations then resulted in heightened tensions with reports of tear gas attacks on KOJC members and fainting that prompted medical attention.

A previous operation in the attempt to apprehend the alleged sex offender had been launched last June 10. It was condemned by no less than former President Duterte, a known ally of the pastor.
