MANILA, Philippines – When gold meets gold.

Philippines’ first ever gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo congratulated gymnast and fellow Tokyo Olympian Carlos Yulo for emerging victorious in the Paris Olympics 2024.

Diaz, the champion weightlifter who gave the country its first gold medal three years ago expressed how proud she was of the Filipino gymnast who ruled the floor exercise final on Saturday at Bercy Arena in France.

Yulo became the first Filipino gymnast to rule the Olympics in his second appearance.

Diaz set Olympic records for women’s weightlifting 55-kilogram division with a total lift of 224 kg in 2021.

Yulo performed a near-flawless routine for 15.000 points on floor exercises final.
