MANILA, Philippines – Nancy Gamo, former accountant of suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo said some of the companies she incorporated for the town chief are non-operational.

“‘Yung mga companies na na-incorporate ko under the family of Alice Guo,” said Gamo at the resumption of the Senate panel on women hearing Monday, “hindi naman hon lahat ‘yan operational.”

Of the first five companies she incorporated for Guo, only one company operated.

“I remember there is the QJJ meat shop na ‘yun ang nag-operate so may mga branches yun sa  Quezon City, Valenzuela at saka sa Manila,” she said.

Others were processed but did not operate.

“Pero ‘yung other companies like QJJ Smelting Plant (Inc.), (QJJ) Slaughter House, group of companies, ‘yung mga (The) Siopao Bulilits (Foods, Inc.) those are not operational,” she said.

“As far as I know. Naprocess po ‘yung incorporation niya, nakapag submitn po ako ng BIR registration niya saka mga resibo, up to that extent lang.”

Gamo said she did not need to monitor the operations of the companies she was asked to incorporate. She said she simply did what she was paid to do.

As to how she knew the companies weren’t open for business, “hindi talaga nag-operate kasi walang report, no nothing.”

Hontiveros: Alice Guo had shell companies

Sen. Risa Hontiveros, who chairs the committee, supported Gamo’s observations and said further investigations revealed that many of Guo’s companies, incorporated by Gamo, were simply shell companies.

“Marami po sa mga companies na ito na kayo ang incorporator ay napag alaman po namin na may mga indicators na shell company lamang,” she said.

“Hindi nagbabayad ng buwis sa BIR, walang operations gaya ng naobserbahan ninyo wala ring empleyado at walang remittance sa PAG IBIG,” she said.

Hontiveros commended Gamo’s willingness to cooperate in the hearing. She commended the accountant’s effort to read the transcriptions of the past Senate investigations.

Gamo said she simply wanted to know what was said about her by Guo. Unlike Guo, Gamo was eager to face Senate hearings to clarify her involvement with the mayor and the controversial POGO companies.

“I wanted to find out kung ano talagang sinasabi ni Alice, maraming ano talaga, dineny niya ako ‘di niya ko kilala,” she said.
