MANILA, Philippines — The Department of  Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos announced Monday a reward of P10 million for any information leading to the arrest of the self-proclaimed “Appointed Son of God”  Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

“I would like to announce to those watching and listening that we have friends who want to help in finding  and are offering a reward of P10 million for any information leading to the arrest of Pastor Quiboloy,” Abalos told reporters in a virtual presser.

Meanwhile, a reward worth P1 million is being offered for Quiboloy’s associates including Cresente Canada, Pauline Canada, Ingrid Canada, Sylvia Cemañes, and Jackielyn Roy.

The self-proclaimed “Appointed Son of God,” along with his subordinates, went into hiding following charges under Republic Act 7610, also known as the Anti-Child Abuse Law. These charges specifically relate to sexual abuse of minors and maltreatment.

Earlier this year, lawmakers told the embattled preacher to face the Senate on the alleged charges against him but Quiboloy was a no-show in hearings and inquiries which prompted calls to arrest the preacher.

Hontiveros issued a warning to Quiboloy, stating that she would seek to hold him in contempt and arrange for his arrest if he failed to comply with the Senate’s directives.

Months after the Department of Justice ordered the arrest of Quiboloy, authorities have yet to capture the controversial preacher, who remains at large to this point.

Duterte knows where Quiboloy is hiding, but ‘secret’

Recently, former president Rodrigo Duterte claimed to have knowledge of Quiboloy’s whereabouts but refused to disclose the location.

“If the question is, ‘Where is [the] pastor?’ I know where, but it’s a secret,” Duterte said.

The police made several attempts to serve arrest warrants on Quiboloy and his co-accused at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound but were unable to locate him. Additionally, members of KOJC denounced the recent warrant-serving efforts, alleging that the police used excessive force when entering their premises.

Asked if the former chief executive will be held liable for hiding Quiboloy, the Philippine National Police (PNP) earlier said Duterte might be subject to complaints of obstruction of justice for refusing to reveal the location of fugitive Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

“That’s obstruction of justice. And we’re checking if we can file charges against these people,” said PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.

“I just want to make it clear, he is not a pastor. He’s a fugitive from the law. It’s been three months, he has been in hiding for more than two months,” he said in a  TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview.
