Suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was not homeschooled, studied in a Quezon City school and was not raised in a farm.
School records obtained by Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian showed that Guo Hua Ping, believed to be Guo, enrolled herself in a regular school during her grade school years discrediting the town chief’s earlier claim that she was homeschooled by a certain Teacher Rubilyn all her life in a farm.
This new revelation surfaced during yesterday’s hearing on the illegal operation of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) by the Senate committee on women, children, family relations and gender equality. Guo was yet again a no-show in the probe citing health and mental health as reasons for her disappearance.
“Dahil nga lumabas sa hearing yung totoong pangalan niya, nag-aral siya sa parehas kong school, sa Grace Christian High School for Grades 1,2 and 3. Year 2000 to 2003,” said Gatchalian.
“Hindi siya homeschooled ni Rubilyn. Nag-aral ho talaga ho siya. ‘Yung natatandaan ko sa school ho namin walang farm ho doon, puro building ho,” Gatchalian said.
Apparently, Guo Hua Ping’s school records were similar to the documents obtained by the Bureau of Immigration. What’s more, it bore a birth certificate in Chinese.
“Ito ho ‘yung kanyang school records. Inattach ho kasi pag nag-e-enroll ka, i-a-attach mo ‘yung Alien Certificate of Registration mo. At lumalabas ‘yung Alien Certificate of Registration niya matched dun sa Alien Certificate of Registration na hawak ng Bureau of Immigration and in that enrollment document interestingly meron ding birth certificate galing sa China, in Chinese at tinranslate siya sa English,” he said.
“Ang nakasulat dito na father niya si Guo Jian Zhong na alam na ho natin at ang mother niya ay si Wen Yi Lin,” he said.
Guo has also repeatedly stressed in past hearings that her mother is Filipino national Amelia Leal. The controversial mayor, as well as her family and a few associates are now cited in contempt and senators have moved to process her arrest.
