MANILA, Philippines — A total of P54.26 million in partial damage to public infrastructure has been recorded following the onslaught of Tropical Cyclone Enteng in the country over the past few days, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Wednesday.

In a report, the DPWH stated that of the P54.26 million in partial damage to public infrastructure, over P35.58 million was mainly on roads, followed by P11.63 million on bridges, and P7.02 million on the government’s flood control systems.

The DPWH also advised motorists that one road in Isabela Province is currently closed to all vehicles, while another road in Mountain Province is only open to light vehicles due to Tropical Cyclone ‘Enteng’ and the Southwest Monsoon.

According to the DPWH’s 6:00 am report on Wednesday, the affected road in Isabela is the Cabagan-Sta. Maria Bridge, which connects Barangay Casibarag Norte in Cabagan to Barangay Mozzozzin in Sta. Maria. The bridge is closed because the water level has risen to 1.2 meters.

In Mountain Province, the road from Cagayan to Mountain Province via Tabuk-Enrile Road in Tabrak, Anabel, Sadanga is only open to light vehicles due to a rock and slope collapse.

Although Tropical Cyclone Enteng has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility, it is expected to intensify the southwest monsoon, which could bring rainfall to the country until Friday.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council also reported that Tropical Cyclone Enteng affected 147,024 people, with 38,058 needing to evacuate. Bicol was the most impacted, with 85,856 people affected, followed by Metro Manila with 41,998.
