MANILA, Philippines – Angelica Yulo, mother of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo will not take bashers, naysayers, fake news and libelous posts online sitting down.

In a Facebook post, lawyer Raymund Fortun, whom Yulo tapped to be her spokesperson, dismissed that all statements attributed to their family especially those critical, disparaging, or tarnishing of the accomplishments of her son are “untrue, fake, and mere products of imagination and fantasy” of unknown individuals.

According to Fortun, the family matriarch will seek the help of the National Bureau of Investigation in identifying these individuals and will be filing appropriate charges for violation of the Anti-Cybercrime Law.

“The public is hereby reminded that the sharing of these fake posts, as well as harsh and libelous comments made in said posts, are also actionable under the Anti-Cybercrime Law. It is advisable that the public delete their comments to avoid prosecution,” Fortun said.

Fortun noted that the matriarch has given two interviews to the mainstream media however, only her comments about her family’s rift as caused by the Olympian’s girlfriend, Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose were highlighted.

In another post, Fortun uploaded an example of an “inflammatory post” quoting a poser of the matriarch.

A gossip account who goes by the handle “Everyday Ay Trending” uploaded a stitched photo of the mother and son edited with a quote card that said, “Hindi niya deserve ang suporta ko at matawag na anak. Olympics champion ka nga pero di kamin proud. Walang anak ang nagdadamot sa magulang, tandaan mo yan! Wala ka dito sa mundo kundi dahil sa akin! Wala kang utang na loob!”

This was dismissed by Fortun, “Mrs. Yulo did NOT post this on socmed.”
