MANILA, Philippines — Around 44 roads in the country have either remained closed or have limited access due to monsoon rains and effects brought by Typhoon Carina in the country, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In its 3:00 p.m. bulletin released Wednesday, the DPWH said 24 roads remain closed while 20 roads have limited access due to monsoon rains and typhoon Carina.

According to DPWH, as of 12:00 noon the following national road sections are closed to traffic, with mostly flooded roads in Metro Manila:

National Capital Region

1) España Boulevard, A. M. dela Fuente to AH Lacson

2) Bluementritt Road cor. P. Margal, P. Florentino

3) Tayuman cor. Jose Abad Santos Avenue, Manila

4) Taft Avenue, Pedro Gil Street (NB), UN Avenue (NB), and near Arellano University (NB), Manila and Pasay City 

5) TM Kalaw Avenue (WB)

6) P. Quirino Avenue, near Singalong Street (NB), and Pedro Gil St. (NB)

7) Boni Avenue, F. Ortigas and Maysilo Circle, Mandaluyong

8) F. Blumentritt, San Juan City

9) C-5 Road, Taguig City

10) Parañaque-Sucat Road, San Dionisio, Parañaque City

Currently, state weather bureau said that as of 11:00 a.m. today, Typhoon Carina was last observed 345 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. It was carrying maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts reaching up to 205 kph.
