MANILA, Philippines – The search is over.

Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was finally arrested in Tangerang City, Jakarta Indonesia at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, National Bureau of Investigation Director Jaime Santiago confirmed.

“I would like to inform you that, according to Senior Superintendent Audie Latuheru from the police, our subject, Alice Guo (also known as Guo Hua Ping), was arrested in Tangerang City, Jakarta, Indonesia, at 01:30 on September 4, 2024,” Santiago said in a message to reporters.

“This information has been corroborated by our counterparts in Immigration, who have confirmed that she is currently in the custody of the Indonesian Police at Jatanras Mabes Polri,” he said.

The NBI said Guo transferred from one hotel to another to avoid authorities.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission also confirmed the news.

Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian also released his confirmation and said Guo has to face the piled up legal cases filed against her.

He said as soon as the NBI and the Bureau of Immigration processes her, she should serve her detention in the Senate where she has a standing warrant of arrest.

No information yet has been released as to when Guo will be returned to the country.
